Springfield Road Methodist Church... The congregation of Springfield Road Methodist Church celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2005. The building is a physical bridge accross the walls of Belfast. The building literally crosses the Peace Wall ... the front of the building opens to a Catholic neighboorhood... the rear of the building sits in a Protestant neighborhood. Proudly proclaiming this powerful geographic statement, the Springfield Road congregation is one of the founding partners of the Forthspring Inter Community Group.

Forthspring Inter Community Group... Headquartered in the Springfield Road church building, Forthspring Inter Community Group works in the nearby neighborhoods - both Protestant and Catholic. Forthspring works with toddlers and mothers, children afterschool, women and seniors - building communication and understanding between the members of both communties. Forthspring sponsors an on-site youth center where area teens play basketball and pool, log on to computers and meet with other teens. Forthspring youth workers also go out into the streets, finding the teens in their communities, encouraging them to improve their lives.

East Belfast Methodist Mission... Our third mission partner is on the other side of Belfast. The shipbuilding companies which created economic success in East Belfast have closed, and 30,000 jobs have been lost in the East Belfast communities. The area is now economically struggling. East Belfast Mission's programs helping people with job skills, homelessness, alcoholism and domestic violence help the community rebuild in the face of the economic losses from the end of the ship building industry.
